Maybe you're not as special as you think

I get this a LOT:

Whenever I write an article or post something on my social media, I will get some response from, a client, a friend or an acquaintance asking me if I wrote that or posted that because of what they shared with me. Most people are nice about it when they ask, but on several occasions, people have lashed out at me (even people who call themselves spiritual teachers!)

The thing is WE ALL want to think our problems are unique and they make us special. But reality check here: we...

Don't complain about things you're not willing to change.

Since we are still in lockdown, I thought I would share a checklist of things you might find useful, and basically keep yourself in check!

Here's the checklist (not in any order of importance):

  2. Complaining that you are not given credit for the work you have done when you do not give credit or praise to others for the work that they have done.
  3. Complaining that others do not love you the way you...

May the NOW be with you

In my previous class on MIndfulness for Beginners last week, I talked about how we must not allow our thoughts to run us. And that there are thoughts that are real, and most are not because they are based on the past or a future fantasy. One participant asked me what is real then?

My response was: the only reality is that one second of reality, the NOW, whenever we are aware. That is reality. In that one second of reality, we have no fear, we have no stress, we only have the NOW in our...

Tips on how to slow down even if the world around you is moving fast

We get caught up, all the time.

When people around us push for things to move, we feel stressed by the push even if we are on track to hit whatever targets are set for us, so how do we slow down in these kinds of situations?

When we get caught in our loved one's dramas, and we take it all personally, we think it is about us, when it has nothing to do with us. We play into the drama and we hit back without pausing, only to regret it later.

When we get accosted by some salesperson...

The Art Of Surrendering & How It Can Make Space For More Positives

When we talk about surrendering, oftentimes, people think we are saying giving up. Giving up is hopelessness. Which very much gives us a vibe of no energy, lifelessness and death.

Surrendering, on the other hand, takes much more courage and trust, and it is an important tool or exercise that all of us must learn in order to be healthy psychologically.

So let me give you a very simple example of how you might exercise surrendering:

You said something on social...

We Are Only Surviving Emotionally When We Should Be Thriving

emotional wellness Sep 16, 2019
Most of the time when we read anything about survival or thriving, we often think about our finances, about how much money we are making. Today, I like to discuss why it is important to thrive emotionally.

Our emotions play such an important part of our personal development. It comes from a body of energy that simply is about energy in motion. However, what kinds of energy is in motion is as important to our wellness, as it is what kinds of food we feed our physical body. Just as...

How Often Have You Gotten Yourself In A Mess Because You Were Not Mentally Strong?

This is an ongoing challenge that most of us face in life! How often have we felt so uncomfortable in the emotional situation and we cannot stand the tension because we were mentally not strong enough.

A sign of mental maturity is the ability to hold tension. To experience the emotional tension and yet not react. Holding allows us space and time to process the situation, without being in a quick hurry to emotionally dump on someone or something.

Some examples of...
